3 Ways to Use a Carson Close Focus Monocular…

Do you want at spotting scope that allows you to view objects both far away and up close? Below, I’ve listed 2 great scopes that can do this: the Carson Blackwave and the Carson Close Focus Monocular, the X-View.

BlackWave Carson Close Focus Monocular

Carson BlackWave Close-Focus Monocular

To start, let’s take a look at the Carson BlackWave Monocular. This multi-tasking scope can perform lots of jobs.

1. Kids Can Use it Like a Microscope for Bugs

BlackWave Close Focus Mini Scope and MagnifierFirst, the focus lens easily adjusts so that you can view small details as close as 48 inches away. For instance, kids can use it to see insects, butterflies, flowers and other outdoor wildlife.

For less than $25, this handy little gadget can give kids lots of reasons to go explore outdoors. Plus, it helps spark the interest in kids to learn about plants and animals.

2. Use this Mini Monocular to Read Fine Print

Second, people with macular degeneration can use it as a magnifier to read fine print on small containers. If you don’t wear reading glasses but sometimes can’t read the small letters on a vitamin bottle, the BlackWave can provide a simple solution.

3. Use this Scope for Birdwatching at a Far Distance

Alternatively, you can rotate the lens to watch birds, animals or the landscape at a far distance. For instance, you can use this mini scope for birdwatching, fishing, hiking, etc..

Compared to standard monoculars, the waterproof BlackWave has a smaller size at only 5″ long. Therefore, it’s super convenient to carry in your pocket or hanging around your neck. (Not to mention it weighs less than 5 ounces.)

By the way, the package does include a handy carrying strap. However, if you happen to drop the scope, it does features a tough and durable exterior for protection.

Unfortunately, you can’t use this monocular with a tripod for hands-free viewing because it does not have a mount. That said, people typically don’t want to use these compact scopes in that way.

In addition, it measures only 3.5″ long. Hence, if you want an ultra-compact monocular, the 7x18mm Close Focus may be your best option. (Not to mention, it can save you about $8!)
