I actually bought my first monocular for looking at wildlife through my kitchen window. I also live above a lake, so the monocular lets me watch kiteboarders and windsurfers up close too.
Since then, I’ve found a number of different ways that I can use my handheld scope. For example, I take it on hiking excursions, camping trips, sporting events and even out on my paddleboard. (I would have even taken it snowshoeing, but I forgot it.)
In other words, the versatility of these small gadgets is virtually endless. Plus, because they have such a small size, you can easily travel with them.
Another cool feature – monoculars typically cost less than binoculars. I mean, who doesn’t want to save money, right?
