Advantages of Miniature Handheld Monoculars:

Compact Zeiss Monocular 10x25Because this handheld scope has such a small size, you can easily keep it in your backpack, bag or car at all times. Then, you don’t have to worry about forgetting it when you’re at the next baseball game, beach or hike.

I mean, we never know when ew’ll run across wildlife or interesting objects we want to check out, right?

Plus, this Zeiss monocular works at close range. Therefore, you can use it to read maps, signs and small print. Or the butterfly that landed on your picnic bench, for that matter. =)

But How Well Does the Zeiss Optical Monocular Work?

However, it packs a punch when it comes to viewing capabilities. For example, although small, it can magnify images up to 10 times.

In addition, this mini scope allows plenty of light in with its multi-layered non-reflective lens coating. Therefore, you can view images more clearly and even see small details.

The extra light also makes images easier to see when you are in cloudy, overcast conditions. In addition, it can enhance viewing in the early morning hours or close to sunset.

Moreover, the achromatic lens helps to provide a noticeably more crisp, bright image quality as compared to a singlet lens.

Zeiss Optical Monocular Price Comparison:

Zeiss MiniQuick Compact Monocular ScopeThis mini scope is not cheap. In fact, it costs about $400. That, of course, reflects the quality optics and design. However, you can save about $200 by getting the Zeiss MiniQuick scope instead.

The MiniQuick still has a convenient compact size (although a little longer and heavier). The main difference comes down to its zoom capabilities. It can only magnify images 5X vs 10X of the $400 version above.

Although the decreased magnification does not allow you to zoom in as close on your target, it does have a possible advantage over the 10X scope. The greater the magnification, the more shaking you will notice if you have an unsteady hand.
